Superintendent Search

As most of you know our Superintendent retired and our district is looking for a new one.  As PTA president I will be going to a meeting on November 20 with our Principal and several members of our Community Council to discuss what we would like in our new superintendent.  I would like any input you as parents have on what you are looking for in a superintendent.

What characteristics and qualifications should the next Canyons Superintendent possess? The community is invited to share insights with the Board of Education’s Superintendent Search Consultants.

Consultant Rickie McCandless and co-consultant Claudia Seeley, selected by the Board following a public bid process, are scheduling districtwide stakeholder input meetings from October - December 2013. Public input received will shape the Canyons Superintendent job posting, which is expected to be issued at the outset of 2014.

Former Canyons Superintendent Dr. David Doty resigned effective June 30, 2013 to work for an education reform firm. Dr. Ginger Rhode, former Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer, is serving as Interim Superintendent.
